Information about Building Active Communities Workshops
Building Active Communities Workshops address key issues in the sport and recreation industry. These workshops are FREE and aim to increase the skills and knowledge of community sport volunteers - committee members, coaches, team managers, officials and administrators through access to quality information and training.
All presenters are highly respected professionals in their field. By attending these workshops, it is hoped that you will walk away armed with a plethora of ideas and are motivated to take on all challenges which you may face in your involvement with your club or organisation.
The workshops focus on key local issues, helping to build on knowledge within the local community and encourage sport and recreation development throughout Queensland.
There are a variety of different workshops covering a range of topics relevant to the sport and recreation industry.

What is the Get Active Queensland Accreditation Program (GAQAP)
The Get Active Queensland Accreditation Program provides teachers, school sport volunteers, tertiary and senior secondary school students throughout Queensland with FREE training that can ultimately lead to recognised accreditation in coaching, officiating and sports first aid.
The program has attracted more than 20,000 participants since its inception in 2002 and is a key component of the Queensland Government's commitment to getting more Queenslanders involved in sport and active recreation.
The program aims to:
- Increase the number of teachers and school sport volunteers with recognised sport and recreation accreditation
- Enhance the opportunities for curriculum / extra-curricular sports activities to be offered to school students.
