Dear Member,

EQ MEMBERSHIP & RENEWALS - 2014

You may be interested in looking at  EA’s One Sport, One Membership brochure HERE, which has changed how we do things Nationally, and came into effect in Queensland as of 1 January 2014.

In relation to renewals, we will continue offering the two processes for 2014.

1. Tax invoice.  You will need to sign the waiver and return this to us including your payment.  At this time please indicate which performance cards you require for your horses. Renewals will be posted to members week commencing 16 November.

2. Commencing around 20 November you will receive an email from EA Online advising that your renewal is due.  Please follow the link provided, select any performance cards required, change any details as it relates to address or contact details and follow the prompts for payment.

If you do not pay your membership by 31 January 2014, any renewal after this date will automatically incur the $50 lapse fee.

Under the ‘one sport, one membership’ structure it has delivered consistent membership categories in the sport being as follows:-

Individual

Competitor

Participant

Supporter

Groups

Clubs

Sport Affiliate

Commercial

Competitor membership is available to those that participate and contribute to the competitive environment of equestrian sport.  A competitor member is permitted to compete at all levels of the sport.  You can register a horse and obtain competition licences across all disciplines.  You have voting rights for Board elections and AGMs (you must be 18 years and over to vote).

Participant membership  is available to those who actively participate and contribute to grassroots and recreational equestrian sport activities.  You can only compete in certain categories – which will be known as participant classes previously named unofficial/ungraded classes e.g. Intro classes in eventing; or those people wanting to take advantage of the insurance; or those who are just interested in EA and want to be kept up to date with newsletters etc.  You can register a horse but if the horse is being competed officially then the competitor will need to hold the correct membership.  You have voting rights for Board elections and AGMS (you must be 18 years and over to vote).

Supporter membership is available to those that contribute to the competitive environment of equestrian sport but do not participate in competitions, such as officials, owners or non-competing coaches and volunteers.  They are recognised as having a significant contribution to the sport and give back through their various areas.  EA accredited officials only (your name must appear on an officials list with one of the EA disciplines) who do not compete or own horses.  You have voting rights for Board elections and AGMS.

Club membership is available to incorporated clubs that support development of equestrian across the country.

Commercial membership is available to businesses or groups which align with EA to access EA services for a commercial benefit; people wanting to register horses in the name of their company or family name.  However, anyone competing the horse officially will need to be a financial member in their own right.

Sport Affiliate membership is available to any Equestrian groups which affiliate for the purpose of equestrian sport delivery i.e. Show Societies.

All 2014 forms will be available on the website week commencing 16 November.

If you have any questions in relation to any of the above please do not hestiate to contact the office.  Office hours will remain at 8.30am to 5.00pm.
