About the guest judge Susie Hoevenaars

Susie began judging in her 20’s to improve her dressage education. “ I quickly realized that the more I learnt, the more I discovered there was to learn.  You never stop learning”. So true even many years later. Riding has had to take a ‘back seat’ since she became a 5* judge, it has meant many months travelling overseas. Susie has judged in most European countries including twice at Aachen, the 2010 Asian Games and the 2007 World Cup Final in Las Vegas, and the 2012 Reem Acra World Cup Final, & the 2013 European Championships. 2014 was a huge international judging year as Susie was a member of the Ground Jury for WEG, Normandy. She spent 3 months in Europe judging at many of the lead up shows to those Games, including her 3rd invitation to judge at prestigious Aachen. She is also an FEI Young Horse judge, & on the FEI judge educators panel for eventing. Susie represents the Asia Pacific Region on the Board of the IDOC executive (International Dressage Officials Club), where she feels one of her most important goals is in supporting the  educational  opportunities for dressage  officials in this region.  Next year, the Club is focusing on National judges at Grand Prix level in the Asia Pacific Region.
