Are your judges on the correct rings?

Did you know that one of the requirements for dressage judges to remain accredited is that they judge at certain levels throughout the reaccreditation period? Unfortunately some judges have been having difficulty meeting these requirements because they are being used at a lower level e.g. F level judges used only on Prep and Preliminary or D level judges on used on Elementary and below etc.

Judges are required to judge at their highest level at a minimum of 6 events during the reaccreditation period:

• F at Novice level
• E at Elementary
• D at Medium
• C at Advanced
• B at Intermediate 1
• A at GP – however judging the following will also assist with re-accreditation - Intermediate A, Intermediate B, Intermediate II and GP

If you invite a judge to come and judge for you and they request that they judge at their level it would be appreciated if you could try to accommodate them. By all means put them on a lower level as well but if you can give them a competition to judge at their level then you will be helping them to maintain their accreditation.

Don’t forget, you can always have 3 judges on EA tests in order to accommodate requests and you can have 5 judges on the FEI competitions to accommodate requests.

The judges will be very appreciative.

H level Judges 

Effective from 1/8/15 H level judges will be eligible to judge Official Competitive Preliminary competitions as the 2^nd or 3^rd judge.

This rule change should give H level judges more opportunities to judge.

** An H level judge can be the 2^nd or 3^rd judge at Preliminary level only

Judging Eventing Dressage – Annex E in the current Rule Book covers the subject of what levels can be judged at Eventing Dressage, but this is sumarised below:

1* Event – Novice level and above

2* Event – Elementary level and above

3* Event – Medium level and above.
