ATTENTION ALL RIDERS CONSIDERING FEI CLASSES

Due to a change in FEI requirements, as of 1 January 2017 the paperwork required for a horse to compete in FEI classes has changed.

For the most part, all horses registered with FEI prior to this date will only need to ensure that the FEI registration for horse and rider is current prior to entering events.

For all horses, which have not previously been registered with FEI, additional ID documents will be required before the horse can be added to the FEI database.

The documents required depends on the origin of the horse and what identification documents it already possesses.

It is the responsibility of the competitor to ensure that horse has the appropriate document BEFORE ENTERING the competition. Please allow 2-3 weeks to complete the application proccess. If the horse does not have the appropriate paperwork prior to entering the competition financial penalties may be imposed by FEI.

*Please note that FEI Passports & Recognition cards expire every 4 years while FEI registration expires at the end of each calendar year.

Some events may run both National and FEI classes at the same competition. If any of the below codes are included in the title of the class you are entering then it is an FEI sanctioned class.

Eventing - CIC1*, CCI1*, CIC2*, CCI2*, CIC3* ,CCI3*, CCI4*
Dressage - CDI1*, CDI2*, CDIY, CDIJ, CDIP, CDIU25, CDI3*, CDIW

AM I ENTERING A CLASS THAT REQUIRES AN FEI PASSPORT OR FEI RECOGNITION CARD?

Unless the horse already has an FEI recognition card (if it is imported) when progressing to the following levels an FEI passport or FEI recognition card is required.

Driving - CAI3*
