Changes to FEI Endurance Qualifications

As of Thursday 7th January 2016, the FEI changes to Endurance Qualifications have come into effect. This means that Novice qualifications MUST be recorded into the FEI database PRIOR to entry into any FEI event.

Please see below the 2016 FEI rule regarding Novice qualifications.

Article 816 - QUALIFICATION PROCEDURE & CERTIFICATES OF CAPABILITY

(Please refer to Endurance Notes for Guidance for Transitional Arrangements)

816.1 Novice Qualifying: to be administered by each NF.

The Novice Qualification eligibility form (Annex 2 of the Endurance Rules) needs to be filled in on the FEI online platform prior to the relevant NF making the first entry for the Athlete/Horse.

816.1.1 Horses and Athletes must, though not necessarily as a combination:

816.1.1.1 Successfully complete 2 rides of distances between 40-79 km and 2 rides of between 80-90 km at speeds of 16 kph or under.

816.1.2 Horses must complete the requirements of this qualifying phase all within the 24 month period and no shorter than 12 months, prior to taking part in a CEI. Please refer to Notes for guidance if clarification is needed.

816.1.3 Athletes must complete the requirements of this qualifying phase all within the 24 month period and no shorter than 6 months, immediately prior to taking part in an CEI Event.

Equestrian Australia will be required to upload results of four qualifying rides to confirm that the Athlete and/or Horse is qualified to enter a CEI1* Endurance in accordance with FEI Endurance Rules Article 816.1. Athletes and/or Horses must have the following results on AERA:

                2 rides of distances between 40 – 79km

2 rides of distances between 80 – 90km at speeds of 16km/h or under

If these four rides are not completed successfully or under speed requirements, your entry will not be accepted by the FEI and you will not be able to compete in any CEI * events within Australia or overseas.
