Charlie Brister to judge Young Event Horse

Toowoomba Jump Club are excited to announce 3*** eventing rider Charlie Brister as the judge of the 2016 Young Event Horse.

The Queensland Young Event Horse of the Year competition is sponsored by Pryde’s Easifeed in conjunction with Cil Dara Stud, Cushavon Park Stud and Finch Farm.

Charlie Brister is a 3*** eventing rider and is currently developing a team of future international champion eventers.  With a decade of experience riding track work at Warwick Farm, Charlie also educates young thoroughbreds to be jockey-ready and track-fit. He regularly competes in the show jumping arena and is currently starting in Intermediate Dressage competitions.

Charlie’s riding ambitions started at 10 years of age at the small one day events and with his family horse businesses. He funded his university degree in Politics and Sociology from The University of Sydney by riding track work and educating young horses before deciding to turn professional as an equestrian. Since then he has gone 3*** on a homebred horse, 2** on a horse he picked out as a yearling and took all the way through himself(pictured). Also a winner at 1* and placing at Inter 1 dressage on a clydestale x that has been produced since being purchased as a 3yo. In addition to this Charlie won the 4yo young event horse class at SIEC last year.

Young Event Horses MUST be born after the 1 August 2010 (proof of date of birth will be required) and be competing in EvA95 or higher. You must enter the actual Young Event Horse class as well as your regular class. Horses will be judged by Charlie while they participate in their regular competition in all three phases. Young Event Horses will also be required to participate in a trot up on Saturday afternoon for the judge to access conformation. The final 6 horses will be test ridden by the judge on Sunday afternoon.

All enquiries regarding the Young Event Horse competition to be made to Young Event Horse coordinator, Megan Drennan – preferred via email [email protected] or phone or text 0439735504 (please text, if I don't answer)
