Feeding for Fun & How to Save on Vet Bills

Last Wednesday, Stuartholme School hosted an equine information evening, covering two topics: Feeding for Fun and Profit and, How to Save on Vet Bills.

Mrs Elizabeth Owens, an expert in Horse Nutrition, debunked a lot of the feeding myths and old wives tales in her very informative and humerous lecture. Liz often presents at symposiums on animal welfare and has contributed to books specifically on Horse Nutrition. A Dressage judge in her own right and also a highly ranked Dressage competitor she is able to relate her information to the audience gaining maximum understanding.

Dr Nathan Anthony spoke as a Veterinarian on-  How to avoid seeing the Vet !! Currently Nathan is the Australian Eventing Team Veterinarian and travels extensively with the riders. He has been at West Vets since 2002 and has a special interest in diagnosing lameness in performance horses and equine surgery. The information was extremely helpful if not at times a bit gorey !!

Thankyou to both Liz and Nathan and we hope to do another lecture later in the year.
