Female Facilities Program - funding to develop female facilities

The Female Facilities Program aims to assist sport and recreation organisations and local governments to develop functional and inclusive female change rooms and amenities that meet the current and future needs of sport and recreation participants.

Eligible organisations can apply for up to $500,000 (GST exclusive).

Applications are now open and will close on 1 December 2017 with successful projects to commence from April 2018.

Who is eligible?

  • Queensland not-for-profit sport and recreation organisations and not-for-profit local community organisations (with an objective of sport or active recreation) incorporated under the:
    • Associations Incorporation Act 1981 (Qld)
    • Corporations Act 2001 (Cwlth)
    • Cooperatives Act 1997 (Qld)
    • Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006 (Cwlth)
  • local governments constituted under the:
    • Local Government Act 2009 (Qld)
    • City of Brisbane Act 2010 (Qld)
    • Commonwealth Aluminium Corporation Pty Ltd Agreement Act 1957 (Qld)
  • a sport or recreation club incorporated within a Queensland university.

Eligible projects

Eligible projects must either be:

  • new or upgraded change room facility for female participants and/or officials
  • new or upgraded amenities for female participants and/or officials
  • safety requirements to support access and use by females parents’ room/s.
