Position Available - Sport Development Officer - Clubs

Equestrian Queensland is the peak horse sports organisation for Queensland.  Approximately 3000 individuals are currently members of EQ with more than 15,000 participants represented through more than 330 affiliated clubs/schools/show societies.

The position of SDO-Clubs is to work actively in the field with affiliated clubs on member retention and recruitment.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  1. Obtaining quality feedback from affiliates in diagnosing barriers for recruitment and retention
  2. Collating feedback from new and lapsed members to inform campaign for 2019
  3. Working with the membership team to increase the value proposition of the offering
  4. Assisting with event entry checks and results uploading     
  5. Attending targeted events on weekends to raise awareness of membership suite
  6. Implementing initiatives such as leader boards which encourage participation
  7. Achieve agreed target 
  8. Administer sport development grants (program 1)

KEY COMPETENCIES:

  1. Sound knowledge of Equestrian industry and understanding of key stakeholders
  2. Experience working independently to deliver outcomes with minimal direct supervision
  3. Understanding of working with volunteers in a not-for-profit environment
  4. Ability to communicate effectively and authentically to a diverse range of stakeholders

This is part-time position (30 hours per week) 6 month contract.  Current Drivers Licence and own transport is essential.
