Statement from the Chair, Equestrian Queensland

Eventing Queensland

The draft eventing calendar for 2019 has been amended to allow the Toowoomba Jump Club to host a CNC event.

Those of you that have been involved in the sport for some time would be aware that this date in April has for many years been a Toowoomba event.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Jess Jenkins, Fig Tree Pocket, and Kathy Humphrey, Toowoomba Jump Club, and their committees for mutually agreeing to an amicable resolution to this potential date clash. This outcome has been achieved through focusing on an equitable outcome that is in the best interest of our members.

Fortunately, while EQ was aware of the potential issue and had to convene a process of consultation with the stakeholders involved, our members’ best interest guided a sensible decision by both Jess and Kathy without EQ having to dictate a decision.

Unfortunately a number of members of the eventing committee resigned due to this venue change in the draft calendar they had prepared.

Their respective positions are open for nomination.

To be eligible to nominate and be appointed to this committee an individual must hold at least current Participation Membership in the sport and be 18 yrs of age or older.

Members who are committed to working towards advancing the sport of Eventing in Queensland are invited to nominate.

If you wish to be considered for the Eventing Queensland Sport Committee please forward your expression of interest by 5pm on Friday 9 November to: [email protected].
