Statewide Facilities Plan 2019-2028 Project

Equestrian Queensland is about to embark on a statewide facilities planning project thanks to funding from the Queensland Government’s Get Planning Spaces program.

EQ Chair David Finch said a Statewide Facilities Plan 2019-2028 would be developed to identify and prioritise equestrian facility needs across Queensland and to improve the quality of evidence-based decision making and strategic planning for equestrian infrastructure.

“We are keen to hear from members, affiliates, clubs and local councils and other parties so we can ensure the supply of equestrian facilities throughout Queensland can sustain future demand,” Mr Finch said.

“We will also be researching world best practice to determine preferred and mandatory standards that will help ensure the quality and safety of equestrian facilities.

Mr Finch said the project, which was being undertaken in collaboration with CPR Group, would produce a plan for the future with a strategic framework to prioritise facility developments and optimise resources.
