Alana Allard - Vice Chair of Equestrian Queensland

 Alana Allard has been riding horses since 6 years of age, saving up and purchasing her own horse at the age of 13. Since that time she has been a keen dressage, showjumping and eventing competitor first in pony club and then at EA competitions throughout South East Queensland, and continues to ride and compete primarily in dressage and showjumping.

Alana has extensive legal, risk and audit and company secretarial experience, having worked in legal private practice and then in house for almost 20 years specialising in risk and audit, compliance and governance functions, large scale commercial finance and shareholding transactions, commercial/shareholder litigation and significant building and construction disputes. Alana currently works in the role of General Counsel, People & CoSec for Wiggins Island Coal Export Terminal, working across all areas of the business with the CEO, Management, the Chairman and Board.

Alana brings to the Equestrian Queensland Board skills in risk management, governance and compliance, human resourcs and legal expertise.

She is particularly passionate about providing pathways for young people to excel in equestrian sport, growing and developing equestrian sports, and in supporting second careers for off the track thoroughbreds, having owned and competed them for many years.
