With more than 12 years of active involvement in equestrian sport David (Dave) brings to the Equestrian Queensland Board a mix of business skills and experience.

Dave’s equestrian experience includes volunteer roles and assisting at events which stems from his support for his two children who have competed extensively in Queensland and interstate.

As a small business owner and fully accredited insurance broker with more than 16 years industry experience working with small to medium enterprises through to large corporate clients, Dave possesses specialist expertise in risk assessment and risk management along with proven negotiation skills. 

Prior to Dave’s engagement in the insurance industry, he worked with the Queensland Government for more than 20 years. In that role, he was actively involved in interpretation and implementation of legislation relating to community organisations as well as negotiating between State and local Government to achieve sound community outcomes for sports clubs.

With a strong understanding of the importance of clubs, grass roots membership and volunteers to the success of all equestrian sport disciplines, Dave looks forward to supporting Equestrian Queensland to deliver on its strategic plan and deliver safe and enjoyable experiences for members.
