 2021 BEENLEIGH SHOW CANCELLED. The management committee of the Beenleigh Show Society has made the decision to cancel the 2021 Beenleigh Show scheduled for 11th September. This was to be the 143rd such event! The situation associated with the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic here and interstate and the total uncertainty of the immediate future and what restrictions may or may not be in force at the time of the 2021 show make it almost impossible to successfully plan for the event. There is a lead time for arrangements to organise and successfully stage such an event and even though much of this was already in place, there comes a time when a final decision had to be made. The safety of our volunteers and patrons is paramount. The continuing uncertainty for our exhibitors who need to prepare their entries including animals, birds, fine arts, cooking, produce and horticulture etc. for the show must also be considered. The Agricultural Show community forms the largest volunteer group in the nation. The Beenleigh Show Society remains the only active Show Society in Logan City and relies on many volunteers and supporters who make themselves available for a vast array of activities prior to, during and after the Show. Knowing that the uncertainty in the current climate makes it difficult for these important people, it is hoped they will now be able to arrange their valuable time with a little more certainty. The Show Society is again devastated to cancel the 2021 event following the cancellation of the 2020 event for similar reasons. We know we are one of many having to make this unfortunate decision and hope our many supporters understand the reasons behind this decision. We look forward to your support in 2022 when we all hope the world is a safer place.
