Mckeira Cumming has recently returned from Europe where she represented Australia at Ermelo CVI in Holland. Mckeira competed in the Individual Junior 2star class & the Pas De Deux Junior 2star with Zac Singlehurst from Sth Aust. Mckeira, only 14yrs old, amazed the European Vaulting Champions, qualifying for 2nd round and finishing 10th in her class of 30. As the youngest vaulter in her class, she competed against 17-18 yr old vaulters from all over Europe that were in their last year as Juniors and competing to qualify for Junior European Championships in August. The competition was of a very high level and Mckeira was very happy to finish with a 6.718 (a qualifying score for Junior World Championships in Europe in Aug 2015) A huge thank you to Meta Jans and her parents that looked after us so well. Meta, her horse Lancier took so much care of Mckeira and they all had so much fun working together. Meta's Netherlands Junior & Senior team vaulters were an amazing support to the Aussie vaulters and the best cheer squad for Australia ever! They even managed to master "Aussie Aussie Aussie ...Oi Oi oi" with Dutch accents!! We really felt like a part of the Netherlands vaulting family. Big Thanks also to Ruth Skrzypek who came along even though she was not competing. It is always so good to have the support of our Aussie vaulting family when we are so far from home! Mckeira reflects "The Best part of my whole international vaulting experience was meeting & working with top level vaulters from all over the world and making heaps of new friends
