EQ Vaulting Horse/Vaulter Award Criteria

The criteria for the awards to be presented at the Equestrian Queensland Awards night are set out below.

To be considered for these awards, vaulters are required to nominate by providing evidence, i.e. scoring spreadsheets, from all events and emailing to the VQ  State Committee on [email protected] by COB on December 7, 2018. Vaulters must be a member of Equestrian Qld.

VAULTER OF THE YEAR –

Category 1 Senior Vaulter (year turning 19 and older)

Will be presented to the EQ member Individual Vaulter with the highest calculated score competing in Open, Advanced or Intermediate classes in an Official Australian or international competition.

Category 2 Junior Vaulter  (year turning 18 and younger)

Will be presented to the EQ member Individual Vaulter with the highest calculated score competing in Open, Advanced or Intermediate classes in an Official Australian or international competition.

The scores for Category 1 and 2 will be calculated as follows;

Intermediate – final score averaged over all competitions

Advanced – final score multiplied by a weighting of 5%, then averaged over all competitions

Open – final score multiplied by a weighting of 10%, then averaged over all competitions

The vaulter must compete at a minimum of 2 official competitions in any of the above individual classes to qualify for the award.

Category 3 Participant Vaulter

Will be presented to the EQ member Individual Vaulter with the highest average score in Novice, Pre-novice and prelim level in Australia.

Preliminary – final score averaged over all competitions.

Novice/ Pre Novice –final score multiplied by a weighting of 5%, then averaged over all competitions.

We will be following the FEI guidelines to determine Junior and Senior vaulters.

QLD CHAMPION SQUAD

Will be presented to the EQ members Vaulting Squad in Open or Intermediate class with the highest calculated score in an Official Australian or international competition.

The scores will be calculated as follows;

Intermediate – final score averaged over all competitions

Open – final score multiplied by a weighting of 5%, then averaged over all competitions

 Squads must compete with the freestyle 2 times with a minimum of the same 4 vaulters to be considered.

QLD CHAMPION PAS DE DEUX

Will be presented to the EQ members Pas de Deux partnership in Open or Intermediate class with the highest calculated score in an Official Australian or international competition.

The scores will be calculated as follows;

Intermediate – final score averaged over all competitions

Open – final score multiplied by a weighting of 5%, then averaged over all competitions

The same 2 vaulters must compete at a minimum of 2 official competitions in any of the above PDD classes to qualify for the award.

QLD HORSE OF THE YEAR

Will be presented to the QLD Horse that achieves the highest average horse score at official Queensland Vaulting Calendar events in Open, Advanced and Intermediate classes.

 

End of Year Aggregate Awards

The following trophies are to be presented at the end of year event, and only vaulters competing in Novice, Pre-novice and Prelim will be considered.

Vaulters must compete in both compulsories and freestyle at a minimum of 3 of the Vaulting QLD Calendar events to be considered.

INDIVIDUAL VAULTER ON AGGREGATE

Category 1 Senior Vaulter  (12 years of age or above)

Category 2 Junior Vaulter  (11years of age or below)

All vaulters competing in Individual Horse competition at QLD Vaulting Calendar events are eligible for this award as long as they are EQ members

AWD INDIVIDUAL VAULTER ON AGGREGATE

All vaulters competing in AWD Individual Horse competition at QLD Vaulting Calendar events are eligible for this award as long as they are EQ members

VAULTING SQUAD ON AGGREGATE

All vaulters competing in Squad Walk Horse competition at QLD Vaulting Calendar events are eligible for this award as long as they are EQ members

PAS DE DEUX ON AGGREGATE

Category 1 Senior Pas De Deux Pairing  (12 years of age or above)

Category 2 Junior Pas De Deux Pairing  (11years of age or below)

All vaulters competing in Pas de Deux Horse Walk competition at EQ Vaulting Calendar events are eligible for this award as long as they are EQ members

The same 2 vaulters must compete at all events. If one vaulter of the pairing is 12 years of age or above, they will be classified for the Senior Pas De Deux Award. If the oldest vaulter of the pairing is 11 years of age or below, they will be classified for the Junior Pas De Deux Award

QLD HORSE OF THE YEAR for Novice, Pre-Novice and PreLim classes

Will be presented to the QLD Horse and representative lunger that achieves the highest average horse score at Vaulting QLD Calendar events in Novice, Pre-Novice and PreLim classes.

2018 QLD Vaulting Events

Fassifern Ribbon Day – 3 June (Unofficial event)

Qld Vaulting State Championships – 14-15 July

National Championships – 4-7 October

Events can be added as long as there is 2 months notice prior, for the committee approval.

*Unofficial events will not go towards EQ Awards*
