Newcomer HOTY –
- Newcomer HOTY is open to horses and ponies which have NOT competed in any under saddle class at any event (excluding racing), which includes but is not limited to – breed, local, pony club, dressage, jumping etc. prior to 1st July 2021. A Pony that has only competed in Leading Rein or Miniature Turnouts and has not competed off the lead is eligible to be considered a Newcomer. (As per National Show Horse rules)
- Any Newcomer must have started at it’s first show in QLD, to be eligible for EQ Newcomer classes
- Horses and ponies which have competed under saddle in any event in any state (excluding racing) prior to 1st July 2021 are not eligible to compete.
- All horses and ponies are to be ridden in a simple snaffle bridle. Nosebands may be cavesson, Hanoverian or drop, as per EA rules.
- Horses and ponies must be 3yrs of age or over at 1 August 2021
- All owners and riders and exhibitors and lessees must be current Competitor financial members at the time of entry.
- There is no domicile rule for Newcomer Horses and Ponies.
- Riders Membership must be competitor level
- All horses must have a Full Life Registration with EA at the time of entries.
- Newcomer showing year is from 1st July 2021 – 30th June 2022
- Must have a current EA Height Certificate
