2022 Jumping QLD Junior & Young Rider Squad Criteria

Jumping Queensland (JQ) is committed to the ongoing development of young athletes within our sport. 

JQ have recently reviewed the performance criteria in regard to squad selection, with the full 2022 JQ Junior and Young Rider Squad Criteria to be found below. 

2022 JQ Junior and Young Rider Squad Criteria

As part of the revised criteria, JQ will be implementing a new Squad Performance Card for junior and young rider athletes interested in qualifying for the 2022 JQ Junior or Young Rider Squad.  JQ will seek support from EA accredited Judges and Course Builders in relation to verifying results on Squad Performance Cards. 

We are asking riders with an interest in being considered for selection on the 2022 JQ Squads to apply for a Squad Performance Card. This is to be completed by riders at each qualifying event with the full details of each performance to be recorded on the card.  The card must then be signed by one of the following officials to confirm that the course has been built to the stated height and the details listed by the rider are correct.  Officials able to sign the cards include:

• The EA accredited Judge officiating that class or;
• The EA accredited Course Builder officiating that class or;
• A Jumping Queensland Committee member who is on the grounds during the competition. 

The new Squad Performance Card will play an important role in assisting riders to monitor their own individual performances.  It also provides an opportunity for athletes to introduce themselves to EA and EQ officials at events.  

JQ encourages all juniors and young riders currently competing under EA rules and jumping a height of 105cm (juniors) and 120cm (young riders) or above to apply for a Squad Performance Card.
