2022 Steelworks Constructions Queensland International 3 Day Event and Eventing Queensland State Championships - Wrap

The Steelworks Constructions Queensland International 3 Day Event incorporating the Eventing Queensland State Championships was held by the Tamborine Equestrian Group from 20 - 23 October with 192 horse and rider combinations entered to showcase their hard work and training. Despite the torrential rain in South East Queensland, the Tamborine weather dome managed to hold up which provided a wonderful first two days of competition leaving the grounds in a wonderful condition to run the FEI classes. Unfortunately by day three the ground on cross country just became too wet and some classes were unable to complete their 3rd phase.

There had not been a 4* International eventing competition at the Tamborine Equestrian Group since 2019, firstly due to COVID-19 and now the weather causing havoc.  Recently more and more events are having to be cancelled across all States, so many competitors were eager and travelled from as far as Victoria.

Congratulations to event director Charlotte Price and her army of supporters behind the scenes who worked tirelessly to run a premier event on the Queensland calendar!

All of the hard work that goes into runnnig this major event, especially in the current climate does not go unnoticed!

Riders and their families were also able to enjoy socialising on Saturday night with the Story Bridge Hotel sponsored bar, food vendors and Emily Rink singing live.

Thank you to all the sponsors, officials, stewards, volunteers and photographers.

Congratulations to all riders and their beautiful horses, you all no doubt came away with an achievement or learnings from the event and we look forward to seeing you next year!
