This week learn more about thumps with Dr Katelyn McNicol from WestVETS Animal Hospital and Equine Reproduction Centre. Thumps resembles an equine form of hiccups and while this nerve twitch, in itself, isn’t a problem, the concern lies in the reasons it occurs which most commonly are dehydration, electrolyte and mineral imbalances that can occur with extensive transport, profuse sweating, an unbalanced diet and late pregnancy.

Normally available only by purchasing the magazine at newsagents and produce stores, as an EQ member you can read this up-do-date health article here now.
