EOI High Performance Sport Co-ordinator - 6 month contract

Equestrian Queensland is calling for Expressions of Interest for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual to join the EQ team to fill a 6 month maternity leave from January - June 2018. 

ORGANISATIONAL ENVIRONMENT

Equestrian Queensland (EQ) exists to promote, grow and develop equestrian sports in Queensland and has more than 300 affiliated clubs/schools/show societies throughout the state.

EQ internal structure includes seven (7) Equestrian Sport Committees; Dressage, Eventing, Showjumping, Carriage Driving, Show Horse, Interschool and Vaulting.

This position is based at the organisation’s offices located in Woolloongabba. Whilst the position requires the ability to work independently and without supervision, line management in the first instance will be to the CEO.

PURPOSE
The position plays an important role in the management and development of the high performance (HP) program in the state, which assists providing fair and consistent access to improved education and development opportunities to state squads riders.

DUTIES

a)Develop and co-ordinate the delivery of a State HP program as per EQ’s strategic priorities which includes but not limited to identifying and support whole-of-sport and elite level education and training needs for high performance riders; co-ordinating elite coaching clinics that provide benefits across several or all disciplines.
b) Develop and maintain Squad criteria in consultation with EQ Sport Committees
c) Developing and maintaining excellent working relationship with the respective State Sport Committees and Equestrian Australia (EA) High Performance personnel
d) Assist EQ Olympic Sports in the development of any relevant HP funding submission
e) EQ point of contact with EA HP Personnel
f) Coordinate the delivery of the following EQ/EA High Performance Events:

  1. Conduct two EQ High Performance Seminars (off the horse) - Sunday 25th February 2018 & June 2018
  2. 17 & 18 March On-Horse Super Clinic for the 3 Olympic
  3. Manage the EQ HP Funding Program for Squad clinics
  4. Liaise and assist Sport Committees with the running of their Squad clinics – including the organisation of off horse presenters where identified
