EQ Coach Update & Professional Development Wrap

Equestrian Queensland recently delivered a successful EA Coach Update and Professional Development session, bringing together EA accredited coaches to support their ongoing learning and accreditation requirements.

A key highlight of the program was the delivery of masterclass sessions by Gary Lung EA Level 3 Dressage Speciliast and EA Coach Educator and David Finch EA Level 3 Jumping Specialist and EA Coach Educator, both of whom brought a wealth of experienceto the session. Their sessions provided coaches with practical knowledge, focusing on effective training techniques, horse and rider development, and the application of best practice principles within a coaching environment.

In addition to the EA Coach Update component, participants also benefited from presentations delivered by Emma Morel, Chair of the EQ Coach Advisory Group, and Roger Kane, Manager of Horse Welfare and Safety at Equestrian Australia, delivered an important presentation highlighting the critical role of welfare and safety in all aspects of equestrian sport. His session reinforced the responsibility of coaches to lead by example and ensure that horse welfare remains at the forefront of training, competition, and daily practices.

The session provided an excellent opportunity for coaches to connect, share knowledge, and further develop their skills in a collaborative and supportive environment.
