EQ's Member Update - Equestrian Australia Voluntary Administration

We acknowledge that some members may be confused or have questions about the Voluntary Administration process involving Equestrian Australia (EA).  Please rest assured that you are not alone.

To assist members, we provide the following information:-

Discussion Paper

  • The discussion paper provides insights as to what members and key stakeholders Sports Australia, Australian Olympic Committee and Federation Equestre Internationale are calling for and the outcomes being sought.
  • The discussion paper also provides information about what a potential new governance structure and operating structure could look like, along with the potential roles of the states and discipline committees.
  • On 7 July 2020, all members will receive a copy of a report from the Administrators, which will provide details on the options available to members and creditors of EA.
  • The report from the Administrators will also provide recommendations for the consideration of members and creditors.
  • EQ will be engaging with members about the report, its findings and recommendations.
  • On 14 July 2020, all members and creditors will be eligible to participate in the Second Creditors meeting to decide the future and next steps for EA.

How can I be involved?

  • Review the discussion paper released today by KordaMentha 'Equestrian Australia: a pathway for the future of the sport’
  • Submit any thoughts or ideas you have about the future structure and governance of EA to [email protected].  We also encourage members to send their feedback to EQ by emailing [email protected], but this is entirely optional.
  • Review the report issued by KordaMentha on 7 July 2020 and ask any questions you may have.
  • Participate in the Second Creditors meeting on 14 July 2020 either directly yourself or via proxy. More information will be provided about this process closer to the date.

Over the past two weeks representatives of EQ have been in active discussions about what the future structure and governance of Equestrian Australia could look like. EQ has not formed any particular view about the future structure and governance of EA and at this time our priority is engaging with members and providing members with a voice about what the future should look like.

Should you have any queries or question please do not hesitate to contact us on 07 3819 6611 or [email protected]
