Equestrian Queensland Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update - 8 June 2020

On Friday 5 June 2020, the Queensland Chief Health Officer approved the Outdoor Sports Industry Plan which includes equestrian and horse sports.

The plan provides the ability to have multiple groups of up to 20 people on a site at any one time as part of Stage 2 restrictions through the implementation of detailed plans which ensure strict adherence to;

  • No mixing of groups in playing spaces/zones
  • Clear management and separation of groups in playing spaces/zones
  • Implementation of signage and hygiene measures at all entry and exit points, communal areas and managing equipment (not limited to).
  • Implementation of site registration/recording contact details of every individual who enters the site

The plan also supports the return of equestrian and horse sports competitions as part of Stage 3 on 10 July with more than 100 people on site with the same controls and plans in place.

On Tuesday 9 June 2020, Equestrian Queensland is delivering a COVID-Safe Return to Activities Forum to support affiliated clubs, show societies and event organisers. The forum will provide information regarding the Roadmap to easing Queensland’s restrictions Stage 2 and Stage 3, explaining the Outdoor Sports Industry Plan and requirements for the return to activities/competitions with a discussion/question opportunity.
