The Board of Equestrian Queensland is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Briston Toft as Chief Executive Officer.

Equestrian Queensland Chair Mr David Finch said the appointment followed a comprehensive recruitment process that attracted a field of outstanding candidates.

"With a wealth of senior leadership and management experience in sport and recreation, government and the not-for-profit sectors, Mr Toft comes to Equestrian Queensland with proven skills in both strategic and operational management, including managing a portfolio of 600 Brisbane City Council-owned community sport and recreational facilities,” Mr Finch said.

“Having worked in senior management roles with the NSW Government, Brisbane City Council and most recently RSL Queensland, Mr Toft has demonstrated experience working with diverse stakeholders to achieve outcomes and will provide valuable leadership to enable our sport to continue to grow and develop.”

Mr Toft said he was delighted to be joining Equestrian Queensland.

"I’m looking forward to building on the current plans and bringing new ideas that will help grow the participation base and increase the profile of equestrian sport.

“My priorities for the next few months will be to work with the board and sport committees to continue to improve the service Equestrian Queensland provides to our diverse membership,” he said.

Mr Toft will commence with Equestrian Queensland on 25 March 2019.
