Pryde's EasiFeed Gatton World Cup 2021 Show Wrap

Despite the wind and chill factor, 394 horses showcased spectacular jumping across four days at Gatton Showgrounds for the Pryde's EasiFeed Gatton World Cup Show 17 - 20 June.

The Magic Millions World Cup Qualifying Class was held on the final day and the second Qualifier in the 2021 Australian World Cup series ahead of the third at the Caboolture Festival of Jumping 24 - 27 June. An exciting track with 19 combinations going head to head with many planning for their best rounds to impress selectors in the lead up to the Tokyo Olympics 2021. Only two riders were to go clear in the first round...

Tom McDermott and Alpha Activity (pictured below, photo credit Calico Pony) flying around in 81.05 seconds plus Brooke Edgecombe and LT Holst Andrea from New Zealand recently based at the Hamood's Glen Haven Park were only a tiny bit slower.

Being a World Cup class, 12 combinations were invited to jump off in the second round carrying their faults forward with them. Unfortunately for Brooke and Andrea, in the second round they had a rail down to finish on four faults while Tom and Alpha Activity finished with zero total penalties after another clear round to become the winners.

Congratulations to the event organisers and Jumping Queensland, all the hard work that goes into running this major event does not go unnoticed!
