Toowoomba Jump Club turns 30!

THIS IS THE 30TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF OUR CLUB

The Toowoomba and District Showjumping club was begun at the showgrounds 30 years ago. They operated out of a caravan and the present grass arena. The club ran huge competitions in the days of Alan Bond and beer sponsorship. They also ran many clinics with overseas coaches, including George Morris. The Overtons and Derek and Rita Dobson were the stalwarts of the club. However lots of other local families worked hard to buy and maintain equipment. In the 1980 and 90s, the emphasis was on Showjumping, however now the club has a great cross country course and produces lots of both Showjumping and eventing competitions. In the last year, the club has changed its name to Toowoomba Jump Club.
