Volunteer Management Series

Sport and recreation organisations can improve participation through a committed and dedicated team of very important people—volunteers. How well does your club look after one of its most vital assets? This workshop covers best practice in developing, promoting and embracing excellence in volunteer management. Topics include recruitment and retention, achieving results with limited volunteer numbers, strategies to increase volunteer numbers, training, recognition and reward, and tools to support your club’s volunteer management program.

This series of three workshops is for anyone who mages club volunteers and looks at best practice in volunteer management, training and protection.

Part 1 - Recruiting, retaining and recognising volunteers - Thursday 16 February 2017

  • Learn how to develop a volunteer management plan
  • Identify effective recruitment, retentiona nd reward strategies

Part 2 - Training and developing volunteering - Thursday 23 February

  • Learn the benefits of induction and training your volunteers
  • Identify methods and resources to train and develop you and your volunteers

Part 3 - Volunteer protection - Thursday 2 March 2017

  • Learn the importance of insurance and risk manageent for organisations with volunteers.
  • Discuss tools to assist you volunteers with child protection and behaviour management.
