Hendra Virus Vaccine Inquiry

As our members are aware the Queensland Parliament, in March, agreed to an inquiry into the Hendra virus vaccine approval, reporting of adverse effects and decisions veterinarians make in relation to attending unvaccinated horses. 

The Agriculture and Environment Committee has accepted 292 written submissions and authorised their publication except where confidentiality was requested. The submission are published on the inquiry page under the ‘Submissions’ tab HERE.

The committee will hold six public hearings for the inquiry as follows:

Monday 4 July

4.30-6.00pm Pullman Reef Casino Hotel, Wharf St, Cairns

Tuesday 5 July

2.00-4.00pm  Emmaus College School Hall, East St, Jimbooma

Wednesday 6 July

8.30-11.30am     Legislative Assembly Chamber, Parliament House, Brisbane

1.30-3.00pm       Redlands Sporting Club,  Anson Rd Wellington Point, Redlands

Thursday 7 July                

8.30-10.00am     Nambour RSL, Matthew St, Nambour

2.00-3.30pm       Frenchville Sports Club, Clifton St North Rockhampton, Rockhampton

All hearings will be open to the public and transcribed by a parliamentary reporter as a record. The proof transcripts will be published on our website.
