2025 Edwards Saddleworld Interschool Qld State Championships - Wrap Up
270 competitors and 348 horses represented 107 Queensland schools at the 2025 Edwards Saddleworld Interschool Queensland State Championships held at Toowoomba Showgrounds.
This year, the Championships included the five disciplines of Vaulting, Dressage, Show Horse, Jumping and Combined Training across 5 days from 30 June - 4 July.
It was an extremely cold and wet start to the week, however thankfully the last few days of competition were lovely in the sunshine. The level of sportsmanship at this year's event was outstanding, with so many riders putting their horse's welfare first.
An exciting new addition to this year, sponsored by The University of Queensland and UQ Skills, was the 'Beyond the Arena Award'. Congratulations to Georgia Rose Klutentreter on being selected as the winner of the 2025 'Beyond The Arena Award', for being a standout both in and out of the arena. The award includes a $3,000 tuition discount towards the Diploma of Equine Management! What an exciting opportunity for Georgia to turn her passion for horses into a career! The quality of applications was outstanding and it was a tough decision for the judges!

During the event, our major sponsor Edwards Saddleworld launched their amazing new IQ Rider Bursary which will provide one exceptional young rider with over $20,000 in value of support!
Applications are now open! To find out more or how to apply, go to: https://edwardssaddleworld.com.au/pages/edwards-saddleworld-leg-up-bursary
An enormous thank you to Jordan and Edwards Saddleworld for their generous contribution and all their support of the IQ State Championships.
A special thank you to the Interschool Queensland Committee, all amazing sponsors, trade vendors, volunteers, schools, families and everyone involved in another wonderful event.
It was great to see some gorgeous dogs at the K9 Fashion Show on Wednesday night and thank you to The University of Queensland and Equine Medicine Specialist Dr Alison Stewart for hosting a Horse Health evening on Thursday night.
There were many riders competing at their first of many IQ State Championships, however sadly for the following 43 Year 12 riders that were competing, it will be their last. We wish them farewell & good luck with their future equestrian endeavours. Please let us know if we have missed anyone.
