Brooke Dougall and My Locky Wrap Up First World Championships with Top 20 Finish

Brooke Dougall has capped off a memorable debut representing Australia at the FEI Eventing World Championship U25 in Millstreet, Ireland, finishing an impressive 19th against the world's best Under 25 eventers.

For Brooke, competing in the green and gold marked the fulfilment of a long-held dream. It was a milestone that reflected years of dedication, hard work and the partnership she has built with her horse, My Locky.

The pair opened their championship with a composed dressage test, producing a rhythmic and balanced performance. It was a special moment to ride down the centreline for Australia for the very first time.

Cross country proved to be every bit the championship challenge expected. My Locky rose to the occasion, producing a clear jumping round over what Brooke described as their toughest cross-country course to date. The combination incurred time penalties, and the ride included an unexpected moment when Brooke's air vest deployed at fence 13, leaving her to complete much of the course while trying to catch her breath.

From representing Queensland in 2018 to representing Australia in 2026, Brooke's journey highlights years of commitment and progression through the sport. Her partnership with My Locky has been central to that success.

Reflecting on the championship, Brooke expressed her gratitude to My Locky, acknowledging the horse's role in every milestone along the way. She also thanked her family, coaches, owners, supporters and everyone who has backed her journey to the international stage.
