Riders Improve Their Seat Through Vaulting

Two of our Queensland coaches, Trish Braithwaite & Darani Cumming, have developed an exciting new kind of training that is proving extremely popular with riders from beginner through to FEI!

It was at an EQ event that Darani (EA Level 1 Vaulting Coach) and Trish (EA Level 1 General Coach) met and enthusiatically shared their desire with one another to help riders of any discipline improve their balance, co-ordination & timing, subsequently inspiring them to collaborate and develop an 'Improve Your Seat' clinic to improve riders skills. They are assisted by Wendy Montgomery, an experienced and qualified physiotherapist, who is also a rider and vaulter herself.  Wendy adds incredible value to the clinic, explaining anatomy and biomechanics in clear detail and assisting riders with any physical difficulties they may be facing due to injury or declined mobility.

"The stories we've heard from participants during these clinics have been very humbling.  There's such a desire for riders to be safe & confident when on their horse.  There seems to be a gaping hole in many riders understanding of their own anatomy and biomechanics and how we physically connect with our horse in a relaxed and secure way", said Trish.

This interdisciplinary collaboration is a wonderful way to develop and grow equestrian sport to the benefit of every rider!
