2021 Hygain Interschool Queensland State Championships Wrap

The Hygain IQ State Championships for Dressage, Show Horse and Show Jumping were held across four days at Maryborough Showgrounds from 28 June - 1 July.  The event went ahead successfully despite the rain and luckily avoiding another lockdown in Brisbane!

The Hygain Eventing and Combined Training IQ State Championships were held two weeks later at Warwick Horse Trials, Morgan Park on 17-18 July.

More than 130 schools and over 300 riders travelled from many parts of Queensland with their horses to participate over the two events.

The display of discipline, character, sportsmanship, teamwork and a sense of achievement made by Interschool riders throughout both events was exceptional.

Congratulations to all riders, horses and schools! We especially would like to wish all the year 12 riders (see below list) all the very best with their future equestrian endeavours and look forward to seeing some of you take advantage of the Coaching or Official pathways in Equestrian Sport.

Equestrian Victoria has recently advised that due to uncertainty related to the current COVID-19 pandemic the Marcus Oldham Australian Interschool Equestrian Championships 2021, scheduled to have taken place 20-24 September at Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre, will be postponed.

We know that so many young equestrians have worked hard to qualify for the Queensland Team at the National Interschool Championships, EVIC are doing their very best to ensure that the event is run at a time when most competitors from all states and territories can attend. We hope Nationals will be rescheduled later in the year and will release any updates as they come through.  In the meantime, we wish to congratulate all competitors on their qualifying results.

Interschool Queensland would like to thank Hygain for their generous support of the #HygainIQStates. Hygain are extremely passionate and dedicated about the development of young riders and the care of our horses, helping us provide the very best for them and keeping them sound and healthy.

Please join us in showing our appreciation by visiting Hygain's Facebook page and Instagram and giving them a Like and Follow.

Congratulations and a huge thank you to the Interschool Queensland Committee and organisers of the two huge multi-discipline major events. A special thank you also to all helpers, officials and to all the wonderful businesses and individuals who sponsored or made donations, the event could not go ahead without your support.
