2025 County Saddlery Interschool Queensland SEQ Regional Championships - Event Wrap

The Queensland State Equestrian Centre played host to the 2025 County Saddlery Interschool Queensland SEQ Regional Championships, held from 3–5 May 2025. The event was once again a resounding success, thanks to the support of interschool families. Competitors enjoyed fine weather on Saturday and Sunday, though Monday presented more challenging conditions at times. Nearly 200 riders, representing over 90 schools, competed across the disciplines of Jumping, Dressage, Combined Training, and Show Horse.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the incredible team of volunteer organisers who dedicated their time and energy to making this event possible. Special thanks to Rob Benefield, Adele Blissett, Catrina May, Kathryn Fuhrmann, Nicky Boersma, Michelle Kerr, Danielle Little, Melissa Jones, and Melinda Robinson. We are also grateful to Kay Paulsen for her invaluable support in coordinating dressage officials.

The organising committee was thrilled to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback. Over three days, the championships delivered not only great competition but also fostered community spirit through fun social activities, including a pizza night and the very popular hobby horse challenge.

This year also marked the introduction of the SEQ Junior Committee, which comprised of Ashlee Lowe, Irish Kerr, Gabby Cornish, Laura Joubert, Morgan Lyall, Savannah Hare, Katelyn Didlick, Maeve Reilly, and Leila Alexander. These enthusiastic young leaders assisted with daily presentations, encouraging good sportsmanship with daily giveaways and were instrumental in organising the Hobby Horse Challenge, which was a huge hit!
