Equestrian Queensland COVID-19 Update

Further to the announcement by the Acting Queensland Premier and Chief Health Officer earlier today, lockdown restrictions in the 11 local government areas (LGAs) of Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich, Lockyer Valley, Logan, Moreton Bay, Noosa, Redlands, Scenic Rim, Somerset and Sunshine Coast have been extended until 4:00pm Sunday, 8 August 2021.

Equestrian Queensland (EQ) provides the below advice to members and affiliates located in the affected Local Government Areas:

  • If you can stay home, you need to stay home.
  • Any EQ affiliated events or organised activities scheduled in the 11 LGAs up until 4:00pm Sunday, 8 August 2021 are to be suspended.
  • A person may travel greater then 10km if necessary to meet their horse welfare responsibilities i.e. food & water.
  • Visitors are not permitted to residences unless providing an essential service. Meeting horse welfare responsibilities is considered an essential service.
  • A person who owns, controls or operates a premises, other than a residence, must not organise or allow a gathering to occur on the premises.
  • Face mask restrictions continue to apply to anyone who has been in South East Queensland, since 1:00am Tuesday 29 June 2021, unless 14 days have passed since you where there.
