MAJESTIC MAROONS SHINE AT THE 2026 AUSTRALIAN INTERSCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Cavaleira Equestrian Team Queensland – the Majestic Maroons have wrapped up an unforgettable 2026 Australian Interschool Championships, proudly representing Queensland alongside the best school-aged equestrian athletes from across Australia.

The Australian Interschool Championships are the pinnacle of the national Interschool pathway, bringing together riders who have qualified through their respective State programs to compete across Dressage, Eventing, Combined Training, Jumping and Show Horse.

Queensland’s riders produced some outstanding performances throughout the Championships, but one of the most special moments came away from the competition arenas, with Queensland winning the Team Spirit Award!

TEAM SPIRIT AWARD – QUEENSLAND!

The Majestic Maroons were officially recognised for their incredible team spirit, teamwork and support of one another throughout the Championships.

The Team Spirit Award recognises much more than results in the arena. It celebrates the qualities that make Interschool competition so special – riders supporting their teammates, proudly wearing their State colours, working together, volunteering, creating a positive team environment and demonstrating great sportsmanship throughout the event.

From cheering on the sidelines and supporting fellow competitors to the unmistakable sea of maroon around the grounds, Team Queensland embraced what it meant to compete as one team.

Winning this award is a wonderful reflection of every rider, parent, manager, volunteer and supporter who contributed to the Queensland team environment.

Congratulations, Majestic Maroons – this one belongs to all of you!

QUEENSLAND CLAIMS THE OVERALL JUMPING CHAMPIONSHIP

There was also plenty to celebrate in the competition arena, with Queensland's Audrey May-Geraghty and Second Edition crowned the 2026 Australian Interschool Overall Jumping Champions.

An incredible achievement on the national stage, Audrey and Second Edition flew the maroon flag proudly to secure one of the five prestigious Overall Champion trophies awarded across the Championships.

Congratulations Audrey and Second Edition!

PROUD TO BE MAROON

For Team Queensland, the Australian Interschool Championships are about much more than placings and ribbons.

Our riders earned the opportunity to represent their State and proudly wore the maroon alongside teammates from across Queensland. They supported each other through the highs and lows of national competition, celebrated each other's successes and demonstrated the sportsmanship and camaraderie that sit at the heart of Interschool Queensland.

A huge congratulations to every member of the Cavaleira Equestrian Team Queensland. Whether you returned home with a ribbon, a personal best, a new friendship or simply the experience of representing Queensland at an Australian Championship, you should be incredibly proud of what you achieved.

A special thank you must also go to our Chef d’Equipe, Team Manager, Discipline Managers, Team Captains, Discipline Captains and Vice-Captains, whose commitment and support helped our riders throughout their Nationals journey.

To our parents, families, coaches, grooms and supporters – thank you. Getting horses and riders to a National Championship takes an extraordinary amount of time, planning, travel and commitment, and our riders could not do it without the people behind them.

We also extend our sincere thanks to the businesses and organisations who supported Team Queensland and helped make the 2026 Nationals experience possible.

And finally, congratulations to all riders from across Australia who competed at the 2026 Australian Interschool Championships, and thank you to the organisers, officials, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who delivered this year's Championships.

The Majestic Maroons came together as a team, supported one another and represented Queensland with pride.

And now they return home as the 2026 Australian Interschool Team Spirit Award winners!
