Reform of Equestrian Australia - EQ Member Release

Dear Equestrian Queensland members,

The Special General Meeting of Equestrian Australia (EA) was held earlier today with delegates from the six State Branches currently recognised in the EA Constitution (EWA, ESA, EVic, ENSW, ETas & EQ) in attendance.

The motion to amend the EA Constitution as published on 16 August 2020 was passed by the five State Branches of EWA, ESA, EVic, ENSW & ETas.  EQ elected to abstain from the vote as we remain concerned that the amendment published as clause 40 (State Branch veto vote) in the EA constitution does not represent the expressed views of the majority of EA members.

Last week, we contacted all State Branches to meet and discuss the revised draft EA Constitution as proposed by the five State Branches.

This invitation was either declined or not acknowledged.

EQ is committed to working with the new transitional board for EA, the State and Territory Branches, the national discipline committees and members to deliver real and lasting reform of EA in the interest of all members.

Please don’t hesitate to contact the team at EQ if you have any questions on 07 3891 6611 or email [email protected]
