2025 Eventing Queensland Annual Awards – A Night of Celebration
The 2025 Eventing Queensland Annual Awards were proudly held on Saturday 31 January 2026 at the iconic Story Bridge Hotel, bringing together riders, families, officials, supporters, and volunteers from across Queensland to celebrate another outstanding year of eventing.
The evening was officially opened by Eventing Queensland Chair and MC, Lesley Brodbeck, whose fantastic humour and warm delivery set the tone for a relaxed, enjoyable, and memorable night of celebration. Luke Harmer was certainly one of the standout personalities of the evening, well and truly becoming the face of the night and adding to the fun and energy throughout the event.
After Lesley opened the evening, International 5* event rider Dominic Schramm, a proud Queenslander now based in the United States, delivered an inspirational speech that resonated strongly with guests before the presentation of awards commenced.

The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to recognise the dedication, achievements, and sportsmanship that define the Eventing Queensland community. A heartfelt thank you goes to all riders and families who attended and helped create such a positive and celebratory atmosphere.
Eventing Queensland sincerely thanks Richard and Kathryn Deery, along with the outstanding team at Story Bridge Hotel, for their continued support of eventing in Queensland and for hosting such a memorable evening in a stunning riverside setting.
We were delighted to offer a range of Lucky Door Prizes, generously donated by Saddleworld Ipswich, Brookies Rural Traders, and West VETS Animal Hospitals, whose support added an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
A special thank you to Terri Trivett Art for sponsoring the prestigious Queensland Horse & Rider of the Year award, helping to recognise excellence at the highest level of the sport.

Eventing Queensland was also honoured to welcome special guests Nicholas Ballard, Briston Toft, Dominic Schramm, Sarah Fitton, and Sue Garrett, whose presence added to the significance of the occasion and reflected the strong connections within the eventing community.
The success of the night would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of the Eventing Queensland Committee:
Lesley Brodbeck, Kylie Schooley, Katrina Finnsson, Chrissy Hynard, Kadi Eykamp, Kirani Heeremans, Katelyn Simpson, Richard Mitton, and Jo Morris, whose commitment to the sport continues to strengthen eventing across the state.
A very special thank you goes to Awards Coordinator Kirani Heeremans, whose tireless work ensured the smooth delivery of the evening. This marks an incredible fourth year in a row coordinating the Eventing Queensland Annual Awards, and her dedication and attention to detail were instrumental in the success of the night.
A special mention also goes to Zara Wyatt, who captured the evening beautifully, providing lasting memories for award recipients and guests alike.
Congratulations to all award winners and finalists, and thank you to everyone who continues to support and contribute to Eventing Queensland. We look forward to another exciting year ahead and to celebrating our community again in 2026.
