Equestrian Australia High Performance Scholarships (18-28yrs): European Base

The Equestrian Australia High Performance Program will for the first time this year offer scholarships to young equestrian athletes to gain valuable experience at European training venues.
Equestrian athletes will be based at the Australian European Base in Lastrup, Germany and will have the opportunity to ride and work at a number of training establishments in the area.
Equestrian Australia will offer up to three (3) scholarships to suitable applicants with competition experience in one of equestrian’s Olympic disciplines – dressage, jumping and/or eventing.
Thanks to funding received predominately through the EA Patrons’ Club, we can now offer young athletes this rare opportunity.
Scholarship holders will receive the following:-
Return economy airfares from Australia to Germany
Accommodation at the Australian European Base for up to 12 weeks (July –September)
Travel Insurance through Gow Gates
On the ground support in Lastrup
A weekly living allowance
Placement and management at an appropriate training establishment
Visits to major shows in Germany/Europe
Applicants will need to be:
Between 18-28 years of age
Members of Equestrian Australia
Currently competing in Dressage, Jumping or Eventing
Applicants should have a current passport
Applications must include:
All contact details for the athlete
A brief, one-page outline of riding, horse management and competition experience.
An application letter outlining the reasons for applying for the scholarship, what benefits you believe you will get from the process and your sporting goals for the future
Names and contact details of two referees
Applications close on 25th June 2012, and scholarship applicants will be advised as to the status of their application by 5th July2012.
