Bluewater Equestrian Centre Draft Plan Survey
In a partnership between Equestrian Queensland and Townsville City Council, specialist equestrian consultants CPR Group have been appointed to investigate the opportunity to develop a regional equestrian centre in Townsville. Stage 1 of this project has already been completed. Stage 1 included a site suitability audit of all potential equestrian facility land in the region, identifying any constraints such as land size, flood risk, protected vegetation and access. Stage 2 of the project focused on Bluewater Equestrian Centre at 23 Endeavour Rd, Bluewater Park as the most suitable location. It was determined that a multi discipline, shared use, regional centre could be delivered at this site and a draft facility layout plan including the key infrastructure has been developed.
We are now seeking feedback on the draft plan and confirmation of likely facility use. Horse sports and equestrian clubs and organisational users from the Townsville region are encouraged to complete this survey.

Ideally, this survey should be completed collaboratively so it represents the views of the club or organisation’s management and members collectively. We aim to receive just one survey response per club or organisation.
It should take you between 15 and 45 minutes.
In identifying and outlining your potential use of a regional equestrian centre please be realistic. Keep in mind your current and desired competition level, the organisation’s ability to grow, continued use of existing facilities and projected financial position. At this time, no funding or management model has been identified for the regional facility. A steering committee has been formed and this committee will lead the next steps required to deliver the project.
