The overall winner will be presented with perpetual trophy and rug presented at the annual Equestrian Qld Awards Dinner on Saturday 25 November 2023 at Victoria on the Park. 

(Riders must meet the EA Amateur criteria to be eligible for points at these shows)

Series Guidelines

  • Rider with the highest points from 6 rounds will be awarded the winner
  • 6 rounds for each Rider will count towards their total points- highest point rounds will count
  • Class heights in the first round will be approx. 1.10m, heights or stated on event schedules.
  • Point scoring class may be incorporated into an open class at the show, coordinator will allocate points accordingly to highest place Amateur riders
  • Participants must meet the criteria of the EA National Amateur Rules
  • The first 6 places in each competition will gain points
  • To gain maximum points there must be a minimum 10 riders in the class.
  • Points allocated 1st = 11 points, 2nd= 9 points, 3rd= 8 points, 4th =7 points, 5th =6 points, 6th =5 points
  • If less than 10 riders points allocated as per example: 6 riders is 11 minus 4 thererfore:1st = 7, 2nd =5, 3rd=4 4th=3,5th =2, 6th=1 ; only 3 riders therefore 11 minus 7 1st= 4, 2nd=2, 3rd=1
  • If there is an equality of points at the end of the series the rider with the most consistent high placings throughout the series will become the series winner.
  • To be eligible to be the winner of the title you must be a current financial member of Equestrian Queensland

 Article 255 – EA Amateur Riders, Juniors, Children and Young Riders

1. Amateur Rider classes are classes for Athletes who:

1.1 Athletes must meet the membership requirements as set out in the EA General Regulations.

1.2 Athletes may compete as amateurs from the beginning of the calendar year in which they turn 21 years of age

1.3 Amateur Rider classes are classes for Athletes who:

  • Must not have competed in an Olympic Games or World Equestrian Games in either Jumping or Eventing

  • In the past 10 years must not have competed in a World Cup for Jumping Riders qualifyingncompetition or in a 5* 3 day event/ 4* 3 day event prior to 2021.

  • Must not have competed in section 1 or 2 at a Royal Show in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide or Perth in the past two years

  • Amateur Riders may not compete in an Amateur class if they compete in a class where the first round is higher than 1.20m at that event.

  • Amateur Riders may not compete in an Amateur class on a Horse that will compete in any class where the first round is higher than 1.20m at that event.
