Foxhunter Series evolving to a Young Horse Series in 2015

Media Release - Mitavite Foxhunter Series Evolves

The Mitavite Foxhunter Series originated in the 80’s and has provided a fantastic starting point for so many young showjumping horses in Queensland.  The event has created great horses and a number of the Series winners and finalists have gone onto compete at World Cup level or have been sold internationally.

Such a wonderful Series would not have existed without the dedicated support with the majority committing themselves for the love of Showjumping.  Thank you to the numerous shows, showjumping clubs, committees and riders who have contributed their time and made the Mitavite Foxhunter Series such a success.  The Series also owes a massive thank you to Showjumping Queensland for being the backbone of the event.

Mitavite has been a devoted sponsor of this Series and would now like to see the event evolve with a focus on a new-aged based class for breeders and producers of young showjumping horses.

The new Series being named the Mitavite Young Showjumping Horse of the Year will run as a point score across 8 selected shows in Queensland.  The horse and rider combination at the top of the Leader board at the completion of the Series will be crowned the winner.  The classes will be for horses from 4 to 6 years of age and rounds will be set at a maximum height of 1.10m.

Details of the rules and selected shows will be provided in the near future.
