Olympians and WEG representatives to compete for Gatton World Cup title

We are now just days away from the Magic Millions World Cup COC Qualifying Class at the 2017 Pryde’s EasiFeed Gatton World Cup.

This year we are pleased to welcome back many familiar faces to the event as well as several new horses and riders who will be participating in their first World Cup event.

It is great to see such a mix of old hands and debutants throughout all the classes which shows us that the future of showjumping in Queensland and across Australia will remain strong for many years to come.

Amongst the combinations entered in the World Cup class is Thomas McDermott. At just 24 Tom is no stranger to high stakes competition after an finishing in 8th place at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games.

Fellow Olympian Ron Easey is also entered. This will be Ron’s 5th World Cup Start on the 11-year-old ‘Simplistic’.

World Cup Veteran and two time WEG representative Jamie Kermond is also poised to take on the testing track. He will be riding Yandoo Oaks Constellation, a horse that has spent the last two years jumping around the European circuit with Jamie.

Also amongst the entries are well known Queensland riders Clem Smith, Rebecca Jenkins, Stuart Jenkins, Billy Raymont and Brooke Langbecker. All of whom are serious competitors with an extensive list of high level wins to their name.

As always, we can be guaranteed that this will be an incredibly competitive event and only time will tell us who’s name will be immortalised with the list of Gatton World Cup Champions.

Entry to the grounds is free for spectators and for those who can’t make it the event will be live streamed HERE.
