EQUESTRIAN QUEENSLAND ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - NOTICE, VOTING, APPOINTMENT & SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS

The nominations for the Equestrian Queensland (EQ) Board and the Sport Committees closed on Friday 5 February 2021.  Elections are only held for the Board and/or Sport Committees where the number of nominees exceeds the number of vacancies.

Nominations for the EQ Board, Eventing Queensland, Interschool Queensland and Show Horse Queensland exceeded the two (2) vacancies available and will be subject to an election.

Where there were insufficient nominations for the EQ Board and Sport Committees, appointments may be made to fill casual vacancies through consultation with the Board and the relevant Sport Committee.

EQ Board Elections

The following members have been nominated for election to be a representative of the EQ Board (listed alphabetically).   

  1. David Holland  
  2. Gary Lung 
  3. Leesa Murray 
  4. Leigh Sears 

Nominee Biographies 

EQ now invites current financial members to vote at the election of the EQ Board. The "Digital Ballot Paper" will ONLY be accepted from current EQ financial members (excluding Junior and Commercial affiliate members).  Please indicate your selection, listing numerically in order of preference for all nominees.

If you do not list all 4 preferences, your ballot will be deemed invalid.

i.e. 1 for your first preference, 2 for your second preference, 3 for your third preference and 4 for your fourth preference. 

Voting will be conducted through a ‘Digital Ballot Paper’ through the MyEA Member Portal using your unique EA member number and password.  

The two nominees with the highest votes, will be elected to the EQ Board and shall hold office for a period of 3 years.  

Members have until 4.30pm Monday 15 March 2021 to submit their vote/s in preparation for the AGM.

EQ Sport Committee Elections

Current members who are entitled to vote for Eventing Queensland, Interschool Queensland or Show Horse Queensland, as nominated at the time of their annual membership renewal are invited to vote for the elections of sport committees through the "Digital Ballot Paper" (please refer to EQ Constitution 46.2(b)).

Please indicate your selection, listing numerically in order of preference, for all nominees.

If you do not list a preference for all candidates your ballot will be deemed invalid.

 i.e.1 for your first preference, 2 for your second preference, 3 for your third preference, 4 for your fourth preference and 5 for your fifth preference if applicable.  

Eventing Queensland Elections

The following members have been nominated for election to be a representative of Eventing Queensland (listed alphabetically).

  3. Lisa Gall 

Nominee Biographies 

NOTE:  due to a casual vacancy, 3 positions are available, 2 x 3 year positions and 1 x 1 year casual vacancy.  The nominees with the two highest votes will be elected to the 2 x 3 year positions. The nominee with the lowest vote will be appointed to the 1 year casual vacancy.

Interschool Queensland Elections

The following members have been nominated for election to be a representative of Interschool Queensland (listed alphabetically)

  2. Megan Drynan
  3. Patrick Lowe
  4. Matthew Ostwal
  5. Claire Powe

Note:  due to a casual vacancy 3 positions are available, 2 x 3 year positions and 1 x 1 year casual vacancy. The nominees with the two highest votes will be elected to the 2 x 3 year positions. The nominee with the third highest vote will be appointed to the 1 year casual vacancy.

Show Horse Queensland Elections

The following members have been nominated for election to be a representative of Show Horse Queensland (listed alphabetically)

 Nominee Biographies

Note:  due to casual vacancies, four positions are available 2 x 3 year positions, 1 x 2 year casual vacancy and 1 x 1 year casual vacancy.  The nominees with the two highest votes will be elected to the 2 x 3 year positions. The nominee with the third highest vote will be appointed to the 2 year casual vacancy and the nominee with the fourth highest vote will be appointed to the 1 year casual vacancy.

Elections Unopposed

The following members have been nominated to be a representative of Dressage Queensland and will be elected unopposed at the AGM.

  2. Anne McDiarmid

The following members have been nominated to be a representative of Jumping Queensland and will be elected unopposed at the AGM.

  1. Madeline Graham
  2. Graeme Watts

The following members have been nominated to be a representative of Vaulting Queensland and will be elected unopposed at the AGM.

  1. Lisbeth Betts

The following members have been nominated to be a representative of Driving Queensland and will be elected unopposed.

  1. Patricia Nolan

AGM Special Resolution

The EQ AGM Agenda includes a Special Resolution proposed by the EQ Board to confer Honorary Life Membership to Mrs Mary Seefried for distinguished service to equestrian in Queensland.

(Rationale for Honorary Life Membership for Mrs Mary Seefried)

Voting on the Special Resolution will be conducted by ‘’Digital Ballot Paper” at the AGM on Wednesday 17 March 2021.

AGM Details & Register to Attend

The EQ AGM will be held:

Date:         Wednesday 17 March, 2021

Time:         6.00pm for a 6:30pm start

Venue:      Sports House, Cnr Caxton and Castlemaine Street, Milton and via Zoom (link to be provided prior to AGM)

All members wishing to attend the AGM must register to attend either in person or via Zoom when Voting on the MyEA Portal.

Members who are unable to attend the AGM are permitted to appoint a proxy to vote on the Special Resolution by completing the form below:
