Queensland State Equestrian Centre, Caboolture

The Brisbane CDI would like to invite your club to participate in the Brisbane CDI.  Please take the time to read the following information and get back to the Event Director, Leesa Murray,  [email protected] by 30th April so that we can work with you on this exciting opportunity.

SADDLEWORLD will present a Carl Hester Saddle to one lucky club who has a team of two riders competing in the Novice Club TeamChallenge on July 16 and 17 at QSEC, Caboolture. For entry details see the table at the end of this document.

Yes, one lucky club will be drawn from all those that have a team competing in the 2.1 and 2.2 competitions being held at QSEC Outdoor Complex.

The club can decide exactly what they will do with the saddle. In fact, on Saturday night at the CDI, the representative that accepts the saddle on behalf of the club is bound to be asked what the club plans to do with the stunning SADDLEWORLD Carl Hester Saddle. Would your club raffle the saddle? Or perhaps award it to the most outstanding club volunteer? Or award it to the most successful Young Rider? Or the winner of a Novice Futurity event? Or hold a silent auction?

Each club can enter a team of two riders selected by the club. Minimum entry requirement is 63% in a Novice test, gained in an official or participation competition from Jan 1, 2016 to the closing date 5th June 2016 at a designated SADDLEWORLD Club Team Challenge Qualifier. Other club and other EQ members may enter as individuals. Please see conditions below.

Will your Club compete? Will you designate all Novice competitions that you hold, Saddleworld Club Team Challenge Qualifiers?

Make your club part of the CDI. We hope you can.

Final Team Entries will close June 5 in line with CDI entries. Clubs may nominate Reserve combinations or individuals at this time, accepted in order of merit. Details of team members & their horse details must be submitted no later than 5pm on July 1 2016. On presentation of vet or medical certificate, substitutions will be allowed. Riders will process their own entries via Nominate.

Riders must enter, on nominate.com.au by June 5. An acceptance list will be prepared as soon as club teams are finalised. (The team of two riders per club will have a guaranteed acceptance of entries.) We also hope to be able to accept all individual riders’ entries.

The competitions will be “participation”. Riders must be EA competitor or participation members. Horses need not necessarily be EA registered. Clubs must be affiliated clubs with Equestrian Qld.

CONDITIONS

One lucky club will win a Carl Hester Saddle from Saddleworld by entering the Saddleworld Novice Club Team Challenge

To be eligible to enter your club needs to do the following:

1. Clubs need to note in all programs, draws and results sheets that every Novice official and participant competition they hold between 1 January 2016 and close of entries is a "SADDLEWORLD Novice Club Team Challenge Qualifier". A club must run at least one qualifier to be eligible to compete.

2. For the club to be in the draw for the SADDLEWORLD Carl Hester saddle a team of two riders must be entered and compete in the Novice 2.1 on Saturday July 16 and Novice 2.2 on Sunday, July 17.

3. At least ten club representatives must attend and register on Saturday night of the CDI. (Clubs based more than 250 km from Caboolture, five representatives.)  There are no spectator costs for the club representatives attending Saturday evening.  The VIP function is open to anyone wishing to purchase tickets.  However, the CDI Committee is looking into an alternative to the VIP package.  This alternative would be a specially designed and priced, representatives evening supper box (including wine) and reserved seating.  Can’t you just see your club members enjoying the evening? See further registration details below.

4. Be even more part of the CDI. Each club should supply volunteer(s) to work for a total of three volunteer days at the CDI, July 14-17. (Volunteering on Thursday or Friday count as two volunteer days not one.) If more can volunteer, that's great. We can have more fun. But sorry, only one entry per club in the draw for the saddle.

Prizes: Rosettes will be presented to all competitors in the Novice 2.1 & the top ten placegetters in the Novice 2.2.

All Novice 2.1 riders must be present on Saturday night to receive their rosette, unmounted.

Qualification - To compete all athletes riding their nominated horse must achieve a score of at least 63% at Novice level in a "Saddleworld Novice Club Team Challenge Qualifier" (where possible) between January 1 and close of entries. At the CDI, two places will be reserved for each club. After the allocation to club team riders, places will be allocated to individuals with the highest average of three percentages achieved since January 1, 2016 in Novice official or participant competitions run by Qld EA affiliated clubs.

All riders to be EA members, full or participant.

Stabling and camping will be available at QSEC for accepted entries.

All athletes must complete the commentary form when entering online

Other Requirements for Club Team Entries -

By July 9 2016, a club representative must be nominated to speak on behalf of the club on Saturday night.

By July 9 2016 each club should give approximate numbers attending on Saturday night.

Club riders to use club saddlecloth when competing if possible.

Clubs will be asked to note in all programs, draws and results sheets (where possible) that every Novice official and participant competition held between 1 January 2016 and close of entries is a "Saddleworld Novice Club Team Challenge Qualifier". We recognise that many clubs have already run Novice classes this year. Qualifiers from these classes are still eligible. We recognise that many clubs may already have existing Novice sponsors but we would still ask your club to include in your program, draws and result sheet that the event is a Saddleworld Novice Club Team Challenge Qualifier in a similar fashion to a State qualifying event. These classes will be advertised in Saddleworld Shops and the CDI Committee will liaise with you, as we near the event with PR and marketing strategies to secure the best possible publicity for your clubs in line with the CDI. We ask all participating clubs to put the Saddleworld logo & a link to Saddleworld on their web sites.

To be in the draw for the saddle, at least 10 club representatives and the two team athletes need to register during Saturday at the CDI Rider’s Marquee. Club representatives can only register for one club.  As outlined above, there are no costs for registering for Saturday’s reserved seating.

Reserved seating will be available for all competitors and Club members and their guests, for the GP Freestyle on Saturday night. The draw for the saddle will be on Saturday night at a time to be confirmed.
