Is this for me?
Maybe you aspire to work within the horse industry when you finish school or maybe you just want to improve your knowledge in your own time over the school holidays. In all cases successful completion of modules will provide you with a Certificate and are registered with the Equestrian Australia as they form part of the pathway to further education.
The minimum age for the EA national education courses is fixed at;
- 12 years for Intro Horse Management & Intro Riding Assessments
- 15 Years for Level 1 Horse Management & Level 1 Riding Assessments
- 18 years for the Intro Coaching Assessments
Getting Started
If you don't already have a JustGo profile setup, you will need to create one on https://equestrianaustralia.justgo.com/ (guidance on how to do this can be found HERE). All resources must be purchased via your EA JustGo profile. All candidates must purchase the resources to be eligible for the course. The Introductory Horse Management and Riding Modules are available to non-EA Members, so you will still need to create a profile on the EA JustGo platform to be able to complete the courses. You can create an profile without having to purchase any memberships; however, you will need to be an Active member before you can complete the Introductory Coach Certificate. One of the first things you need to do is to contact a Coach Educator (CE) or Skills Specific Trainer and Assessor (SSTA) to organise an appointment so they can help you in your journey to become an EA Accredited Coach. You can find a CE/SSTA in your area HERE
Purchasing Resources
You will need to purchase your Introductory Horse Management and Introductory Riding Modules first these can be purchased via the Coaches Tab on the main profile of your account by using the Coaching Prerequisites tab. A guide to help you can be found HERE
Purchased Resources
Once you have purchased your resources, they will be available on your account under the Credentials tab. These can then be accessed at any point and download in the future. A help guide on how to find them can be found HERE
Assessment
The Coach Educator or SSTA must complete and sign the relevant Assessment Checklists for each course. A Coach Educator can be found using the coach finder https://www.equestrian.org.au/content/coach-finder.
Once completed the assessment forms must then be uploaded to your EA Account for approval; you can take a screenshot on your phone and then upload it onto your account.
Please note it is the responsibility of the Candidate to upload the assessment form NOT the Coach Educator or SSTA.
