EOI - IQ Committee Vacancy

The Interschool Queensland committee is calling for expressions of interest for a motivated, enthusiastic and organised individual/s with an interest in event management to join the committee.

This role would appeal to a person/s that is seeking to broaden their skill base in administration and event management as well as help promote the sport of Interschool in Queensland. Although this is a volunteer position, there is an opportunity to have your skills and experience in this role recognised as part of any future employment endeavours. Alternatively, if you are currently completing your degree in event or project management this experience will assist you in understanding the different moving parts of event co-ordination and provide real world experience.

To excel in this role, it is not necessary for you to have children competing in interschool, or to be horse orientated. The IQ Committee, previous role holder and the Equestrian Qld team will be there to support you. We anticipate that an average investment of 5 hours per week would be required (this will increase in the weeks leading up to States and Nationals), and it would be expected that you can attend the IQ State Championships (including bump in) from 25 June – 30 June 2023 at Toowoomba Showgrounds to assist in the delivery of the event.  There is potential for the role to be shared between two persons.

Duties:

  • To assist in the organising & delivery of the Interschool Qld State Champs.
  • Organisation of Queensland Team for Interschool Nationals.
  •  Co-ordination of event entries
  • Processing of stabling and camping bookings

Key Competencies:

  • Be computer literate and have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Able to work autonomously as well as part of a Team.
  • Good time management skills.
  • Great interpersonal skills, both verbally and written.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
