2024 EQ Youth Development Camp - Wrap Up
Recently Equestrian Queensland (EQ) hosted the 2024 EQ Youth Development Camp on 12 - 14 January 2024, at Toowoomba Showgrounds and the delivery was assisted by Dressage Queensland, Eventing Queensland and Jumping Queensland.
The focus of the camp was to provide the Dressage Queensland, Eventing Queensland and Jumping Queensland Squad members under 25 years and other youth riders with the opportunity to come together to experience high performance education and further develop in their chosen discipline.
The camp encompassed both ‘On-Horse’ and ‘Off-Horse’ sessions and spectator viewing throughout the event.

- FEI Fitness Inspection / Trot up Practice with by Mattea Davidson from Davidson Equestrian
- Rider Fitness with Natasha Campbell from The Eventing Physiologist
- Individual Performance Planning delivered by Mattea Davidson from Davidson Equestrian
- Welcome Dinner catered by Taste & Design Co, with panel discussion featuring Boyd Exell, Rebecca Jenkins, Lesley Brodbeck and Gary Lung
- Guest speakers Brooke Dougall, Elizabeth Ballard and Isabella Parisi
- and more fun group activites
We would like to take this opportunity of thanking everyone that assisted over the course of the weekend. Many helped with setting up for lessons/sessions and in the jumping arenas assisted with picking up rails.
In particular the EQ Team would like to especially thank Kerri-Lee Ryder, Annabel and Emma Twine, Patrick Lowe, Sharni Harvey, and Dave Holland for assisting the EQ Team.
