Important update for IQ Show Horse competitors

Due to a number of enquiries from Show Horse competitors today regarding Rule 11 of section 4.3 of the IQ Handbook that states the following:-

“Horses are not to be ridden by anyone other than the rider nominated on the draw at events until the whole event is concluded except for as per point 12 below. This ruling applies even if a horse has completed its competitions at an event.”

The decision has been made that the above rule will not be enforced for IQ riders and horses competing in the Show Horse classes at the Pryde’s EasiFeed SEQ Regionals on Monday 8 June, who are also competing at the Pryde’s EasiFeed Horse of the Year & Newcomer Show on June 6-7.

This decision has been made due to the rescheduling of the event, circumstances beyond the OC’s control, and the only available date for rescheduling being the same weekend as HOTY.

As HOTY is the pinnacle event in Queensland for show horse competitors, it has been decided that those horses competing at the HOTY, whether being ridden by the IQ rider or another rider, will not be subject to this ruling on this occasion.

The rule still applies to all other disciplines for the duration of the event, and for all horses, including those competing in show horse, whilst at the SEQ Regionals event.
